A little slice of heaven

That’s where I want to be right now… amongst the vineyards in Hunter Valley with the open fresh air. Spring is here and I’m yearning for another road trip with my two buddies. We haven’t caught up in a while and I miss it, that trip was one I’ll never forget (officially stored in the special moments/adventures with friends section). There’s something about this photo that takes my breath away. Apart from the overcast sky and contrast lighting between background and vineyard, it might also be the familiarity of where we were sitting enjoying our wine looking out at this stunning view. It’s moments like these that matter most to me and forms apart of who I am.

It became my little slice of heaven and has impacted on my perspective of The Hunter Valley. So many positive associations with this place, its currently my favourite place in NSW. It calms my soul and like a yoga salutation bestows upon relaxation from head to toe. Touring through each vineyard, opened doors to completely different settings or worlds as I saw them. I remember our first stop at 10am, thinking it might be slightly early to start wine tasting. But it really was perfect, feeling elated after our first drink I knew it was going to be an amazing day.

Learning about the wine making process and different varieties has helped me talk about it with confidence to novices. It made me realise how important it is to have some substance and knowledge behind your words. Thank you for teaching me about “viscosity”, another one of my favourites I like to throw in while in conversations about wine. I would not have known about it if it wasn’t for your quiet chatter during the tastings. It’s funny how much I take in during social situations without even realising.

Great friendships are hard to come by and I’m glad we shared this moment together. Here’s to many more… 🍷
